More than 100 golfers teed off for the annual Myall Coast Veteran Golfers fundraising day to support TROG Cancer Research this month.
Under blue skies, the golfers enjoyed a fantastic day on the course at Hawks Nest Golf Club. north of Newcastle, NSW.
The Myall Coast Veteran Gofers have a long tradition of supporting TROG, having held the annual fundraiser for more than 10 years.
Together with donations from The Hawks Nest Veteran Golfers, the Hawks Nest Lady Veteran Golfers and the Hawks Nest Golf Club Social Club and an incredibly generous $2,000 donation from an individual member, the day raised a total of $5,690 to help advance research that is changing cancer treatment and saving lives.
Myall Lakes Veterans Golfers President Colin Clinch (Pictured bottom right) said many of the club members and/or their family members had experienced cancer and undergone radiation therapy, and they were committed to supporting TROG’s research




TROG Head of Operations, Research and Quality Assurance, Alisha Moore (pictured top right), outlined some of TROG ‘s current trials, including studies that are underway to improve treatments for prostate, brain and liver cancers.
“We are so grateful to this generous community for their commitment to supporting TROG’s work,” she said. “Their donations will make a real difference, helping us to undertake research that is changing the way we treat cancer, and saving lives.”
