Our People

TROG Cancer Research’s Central Operations Office (TCOO) employs fifteen (15) full-time equivalent staff and is overseen by a Board of nine (9) Directors.

Recognising the complexities of compliance in key areas of the organisation, TROG Cancer Research has several committees, including the Finance, Audit and Risk Management Committee and the Scientific Committee.

Our Researchers

TROG Cancer Research consists of more than 1,400 members who are health professionals working in the area of radiation oncology.

Membership is held by the majority of radiation oncologists in Australia and New Zealand (around 300). The remaining members hold a number of related professions including:

Our Staff

TROG Cancer Research is headquartered on the grounds of Calvary Mater Hospital in Newcastle, the major cancer care centre for the Hunter New England Local Health District. Here is where the three key teams – Business Services, Research Services and Radiation Therapy Quality Assurance – lead the day to day operations.

Our Board

TROG Cancer Research is a company limited by guarantee, managed by an elected Board of Directors.

Finance Audit & Risk Management Committee

The Finance Audit and Risk Management Committee (FARM) is a sub-committee of the Board.

The FARM Committee focus is to improve financial performance through continued delivery of excellent outcomes for grant funders, improvement in our fee for service financial outcomes, and a relentless focus of cost efficiency.

Improved future surpluses for TROG Cancer Research will allow our accumulated surplus to increase to weather future challenges and allow TROG Cancer Research to invest in vital research including in emerging Australian research leaders.

Scientific Committee

The Scientific Committee an advisory committee to the Board appointed to oversee the scientific research activities of TROG.
