Closed gastrointestinal trials

Trials closed to recruitment

TROG 09.01 (PROArCT) - this research project tested a combination of chemotherapy and radiotherapy for patients with locally advanced rectal cancer. It involved combining an 11-week treatment of chemotherapy known as FOLFOX and radiotherapy.

Primary Sponsor: TROG

TROG 03.01 - people with cancer of the oesophagus (gullet) often have trouble swallowing. Radiotherapy can help improve this problem. Using chemotherapy together with radiotherapy may work better but has more side effects. This trial will determine if it is better to use radiotherapy by itself or together with chemotherapy.

Primary sponsor: TROG
Collaborating group: National Cancer Institute of Canada Clinical Trials Group (NCIC CTG)
