Title
A randomised trial of regional nodal irradiation following breast conserving surgery or mastectomy in patients with luminal A early breast cancer involving 1–3 axillary lymph nodes
Summary
Radiotherapy for breast cancer can lead to unwanted side effects such as lymphedema, arm/shoulder limitation and worse cosmetic outcomes. For some patients with breast cancer, doctors are unsure if giving radiotherapy is beneficial. The goal of this study is to reduce over treatment of low risk breast cancer by identifying markers (in the patients’ blood test) to identify a group of patients that may not require radiotherapy.
